Commercial Insurance Broker Apprentice

Summary
We are looking for an apprentice to join a thriving independent Commercial Insurance Brokerage who is eager to learn and build their knowledge around negotiations with insurers, build rapport with clients, and contribute to the growth of the business.
Wage: £16,640 for the first year, with potential increases based on age and performance.
Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Make contact with potential new business clients and build a pipeline of deals.
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the appetites of our agencies.
- Build relationships with insurers and underwriters to get the best policy for clients.
- Ensure quotes meet client demands and needs in line with FCA guidelines.
- Work closely with colleagues and management to support the business' operational requirements.
Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards
- Implement the New Business & Renewal Process.
- Make outbound calls to potential and existing clients to achieve goals.
- Complete fact finds over the phone with clients.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and insurers.
- Hold meetings with senior management to agree on the conditions of the sale.
- Identify potential gaps in client's insurance requirements and upsell as necessary.
- Use internal systems to conduct business and educate clients.
- Produce a broker report comparing and contrasting client's existing policy with new quotes.
- Complete required broker training to fulfill FCA continuous professional development requirements.

Training Schedule
- Full training will be given leading to a recognized Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard Level 3 qualification.
- Insurance knowledge will be provided through full on-the-job training supported by Davidson Training UK Ltd.
