Thornhill Insurance Brokers is an established, independent brokerage based in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. We're proud of the tailored advice and genuinely personal service we offer our commercial clients, and of the close-knit team that makes it happen. As we grow, we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced, client-focused Commercial Insurance Broker to join our team. Our sales team brings in the new business enquiries, and you'll take it from there: sourcing and negotiating the best terms, placing the cover, and managing the client relationship through renewals and beyond. If you've got solid broking experience, a sharp eye for detail, and the personality to make clients want to work with you, we want to hear from you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
