We are looking for an experienced lawyer to play a key role in our Commercial/IT team, led by Partner, Richard Lane.
With in-depth, industry-focused expertise, the team advises on a wide range of high profile and high value commercial/ICT projects, outsourcing arrangements and general commercial contracts to a wide range of public and private sector clients. In an increasingly complex and competitive commercial landscape, the team is helping more and more clients keep pace with change - making this an exciting time to join. You will be part of an expanding team and will have the opportunity to shape our ambitious growth plans.
The role
Your work will focus on major IT and business process outsourcing projects for the likes of Central Government bodies (and range of arms' length bodies and executive agencies), NHS bodies, local authorities and Housing Associations, as well as private sector companies.
In particular, your role will include:
- Working within a multi-disciplinary team on a major, mission critical outsourcing programme of work, led by Partner, Richard Lane, which is set to run for the next 2-3 years.
- Leading on a range of interesting and varied projects with other partners within the team and across other teams within Bevan Brittan; and
- Supervising junior members of the team on a range of commercial agreements.

There is scope to be based from any of our office locations - Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds and London.
What we are looking for from you
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- Good experience in drafting and negotiating contracts (including IT contracts).
- Experience in commercial transactional projects and contract management support
- Demonstrable interest in IT or technology law, with a keenness to develop further.
- Ability to work in a team, coordinating advice with other fee earners across a wide range of disciplines
- Ability to liaise effectively with clients
- Practical and commercial approach
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively
