Commercial Lawyer – Corporate Services

Avis Budget Group – International

Location: Bracknell, UK
Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week in the office
Reporting to: Head of Legal – Corporate Services
Qualification: UK qualified solicitor | 5+ years’ PQE

The Opportunity:

Avis Budget Group is looking for an experienced, commercially minded Commercial Lawyer to join our International Legal team in Bracknell. This is a broad and varied in-house role covering commercial contracting, litigation, consumer and regulatory matters, intellectual property and, where required, company secretarial and corporate governance work across a fast-paced, international, consumer-facing business.

You’ll partner closely with senior stakeholders across Sales, Commercial, Procurement, Marketing, Fleet, Finance, IT, HR and Compliance, providing clear, pragmatic legal advice that supports business objectives while managing risk.

What You'll Do:

  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of B2B, B2C and B2B2C commercial agreements, including corporate, partnership, marketing, procurement, technology and supplier contracts.
  • Provide day-to-day commercial and legal advice to business stakeholders, including on RFPs, confidentiality agreements and strategic arrangements.
  • Support the management of litigation, customer disputes and regulatory enquiries, working with external counsel where appropriate.
  • Advise on consumer law, promotions, marketing campaigns and customer propositions.
  • Support the Group's trademark and IP portfolio, including brand protection, filings, renewals and IP due diligence.
  • Assist with company secretarial, corporate governance and entity management matters across UK and international entities.
  • Support compliance, risk management, policy and training initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships across the business and act as a trusted, solutions-focused legal partner.
  • Support the Head of Legal and wider International Legal team on strategic projects and business initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

  • UK qualified solicitor with 5+ years' PQE.
  • Strong experience in commercial contracting, ideally covering both B2B and B2C environments.
  • Experience managing litigation and disputes, from complex matters through to smaller claims.
  • Some experience of company secretarial, corporate governance and entity management.
  • Experience advising on IP rights and trademarks.
  • A strong understanding of commercial and regulatory risk and the ability to balance legal considerations with business priorities.
  • Experience in a consumer-facing or international business is desirable.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to non-lawyers.
  • A pragmatic, collaborative and commercially focused approach, with the confidence to work independently and know when to escalate.
  • Familiarity with GDPR/data privacy is advantageous.
