We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Lead to join a major hyperscale data centre development in Helsinki, Finland.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially driven professional who has successfully delivered large-scale data centre projects from pre-construction through to final account on behalf of a general contractor. The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the commercial performance of a flagship mission-critical project and lead a high-performing commercial team throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role

As Commercial Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading all commercial aspects of a hyperscale data centre project from inception to completion
  • Managing and mentoring a team of Quantity Surveyors, Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers
  • Driving commercial strategy and ensuring project profitability
  • Overseeing procurement, subcontract management, change control and final accounts
  • Managing client and stakeholder relationships at senior level
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial risks across the project
  • Producing accurate financial forecasts, cost reports and executive-level reporting
  • Supporting contract negotiations and dispute resolution where required
  • Ensuring commercial compliance and governance throughout project delivery

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in a senior commercial leadership role with a recognised General Contractor / Main Contractor
  • Proven track record of delivering at least one large-scale data centre project from start to finish
  • Strong understanding of M&E and CSA commercial delivery within mission-critical environments
  • Experience managing large commercial teams on complex construction projects
  • Expertise in contract administration, procurement, cost control and commercial risk management
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-value project environment

Preferred Experience

  • Hyperscale or colocation data centre projects
  • Major mission-critical infrastructure developments
  • Projects exceeding €200m in value
  • International project delivery experience
  • Familiarity with NEC, FIDIC or equivalent contract forms
