About the Role

We are currently working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected housing provider, who are looking to appoint a Commercial Lead on a permanent basis. This will be a full-time position, with a salary of £60,000 per annum.

Our client is a forward-thinking organisation with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality homes and services across the South East.

With a customer-first approach and a commitment to continuous improvement, they are investing in their commercial function to support the delivery of efficient, value-driven services and long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and leading a high-performing commercial team focused on delivering measurable business outcomes
  • Ensuring appropriate commercial controls, procedures and governance are implemented and adhered to
  • Managing supplier relationships, performance, KPIs, service levels and dispute resolution
  • Supporting procurement activities to deliver compliant and commercially sound tendering processes
  • Monitoring job costs against revenue and ensuring robust commercial reporting
  • Managing variation processes to maximise contractual entitlement
  • Reviewing monthly management accounts and monitoring financial performance against budget
  • Monitoring buying rates, supply chain liabilities and subcontractor payments
  • Supporting senior managers with commercial duties and attending key stakeholder meetings
  • Assisting with recruitment, training and mentoring of team members

Requirements

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a Commercial Manager, Commercial Lead or similar senior commercial position
  • Experience reviewing management accounts and monitoring financial performance
  • Experience managing supplier and subcontractor relationships
  • Experience supporting procurement and tendering activities

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification/training
  • Excellent Excel and data interrogation skills
  • Strong contractual awareness and negotiating skills
  • Ability to interpret financial information and identify commercial risks
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on developing high-performing teams
