Commercial Lead

Location: Any of the following offices; London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, or Newcastle
Salary: Up to £90k DOE
Hybrid: 2-3 days in the office
Permanent: Full time

Our client is a premier UK technology partner, celebrated for their technical expertise and industry-leading workplace culture.

In the role of Commercial Lead, you will act as a trusted advisor to internal account teams and a commercial specialist for external customers. You’ll lead on commercial and procurement strategy for large or complex bids, hosting Big Deal Reviews, mitigating risk, and shaping sustainable commercial solutions. Working within a small, collaborative team, you will also contribute to key projects aimed at continuously refining our client's commercial offering.

The Role:

  • Engage directly with customers to advise on tailored commercial and procurement solutions.
  • Partner with account teams to design bespoke agreements that meet customer needs while supporting our client’s broader strategy.
  • Review Big Deal Review (BDR) submissions, host review calls, and guide teams on deal qualification, risk mitigation, and win strategy.
  • Act as the point of contact for complex commercial queries, running financial modelling and presenting options to senior stakeholders for approval.
  • Report on high-value deals to the Senior Leadership Team and Board in line with delegation of authority guidelines.
  • Lead the commercial solutioning for major strategic and preferred supplier opportunities.
  • Help account managers navigate internal processes, understand contract usage, and signpost them to the right internal teams for support.
  • Oversee key internal sign-offs, including rebate shares and temporary purchase orders.
  • Lead or support business-wide commercial projects, such as improving processes around currency risk management.

About you:

  • Strong background in sales support, commercial advisory, or specialist roles in a Tech Re-seller, Distributor or Vendor.
  • Proven experience in written contributions for bids/proposals, qualification, and chairing decision-making reviews.
  • Clear understanding of governance processes, contract risks, operational challenges, and financial metrics.
  • Skilled at bringing stakeholders together, driving consensus, and making sound, confident decisions.
  • Able to articulate context, risk, and strategy clearly to both internal teams and external clients.
  • Ability to understand and balance the differing perspectives of sales, operations, and customers.

To secure the upper end of the salary range, you will bring extensive experience in commercial governance and deal structuring, with a proven track record of leading complex, high-value bids and advising senior stakeholders in fast-paced environments.
