Job Description

Ready to shape commercial strategy in one of the UK's most dynamic energy markets? Do you enjoy turning market intelligence into growth opportunities, influencing senior stakeholders, and helping customers navigate an increasingly complex energy landscape? As a Commercial Lead within EDF Business & Wholesale Services, you'll play a key role in driving profitable growth, strengthening customer outcomes, and helping businesses make confident energy decisions.

The Opportunity

As a Commercial Lead, you'll sit at the heart of our Business Supply function, helping to shape and deliver the commercial growth agenda across our portfolio. Working closely with sales, trading, pricing, product, and operational teams, you'll use market, customer, and competitor insight to identify opportunities, improve commercial performance, and influence decisions that deliver sustainable value. Your work will directly support EDF's journey towards An Electric Britain, helping organisations navigate the energy transition with confidence.

This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility to work from home alongside regular collaboration with colleagues in our Exeter office.

You'll join a highly collaborative environment, partnering with stakeholders across the business to connect commercial strategy with operational delivery. Working arrangements can be tailored in line with team and business requirements, providing flexibility while ensuring strong engagement with colleagues, customers, and partners.

This is an opportunity to broaden your commercial expertise across sales performance, portfolio management, product development, pricing, and regulatory change. You'll gain exposure to senior decision-making, emerging market developments, and industry-wide change programmes, while helping shape propositions and customer experiences that strengthen EDF's position in an increasingly competitive market.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
