Commercial Lending Relationship Manager

Location: South Wales / Hybrid 1 day a week

The opportunity

Northreach is partnering with an established financial services business to appoint a Commercial Lending Relationship Manager.

This is a relationship-led commercial role focused on generating new business, managing key client relationships, and supporting property-backed lending transactions.

You will manage opportunities throughout the lending lifecycle—from initial enquiry and financial assessment through to credit approval, documentation, and completion. This role would suit someone who combines strong business-development skills with a sound understanding of commercial lending, credit, and risk.

What you’ll be doing

  • Identify and develop new commercial lending opportunities.
  • Build long-term relationships with borrowers, brokers, and professional introducers.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial lending clients.
  • Assess potential lending opportunities, including financial information, credit profiles, and underlying security.
  • Structure property-backed lending facilities within agreed policies and risk parameters.
  • Prepare clear and detailed proposals for internal credit approval.
  • Present and support lending opportunities throughout the decision-making process.
  • Negotiate terms and progress transactions from initial enquiry through to completion.
  • Review lending documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market conditions and competitor activity.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify potential risks or growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with credit, operations, and other internal teams.
  • Provide a high standard of service throughout the client journey.
  • Contribute to the continued development of lending products, processes, and commercial strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
