Commercial Litigation Associate Solicitor

About the Opportunity

We are pleased to present an excellent opportunity for a 3–5 PQE Commercial Litigation Associate to join the litigation team of a highly regarded law firm.

The firm has an established reputation for providing high-quality legal advice across a broad range of contentious and commercial matters and is recognised in leading legal directories, including The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.

The practice acts for a diverse client base across a range of sectors and circumstances, advising businesses, entrepreneurs, individuals and established organisations on complex and often commercially sensitive disputes.

The team combines strong technical expertise with a practical and commercial approach. Lawyers are encouraged to understand not only the legal issues involved, but also the wider objectives of the client and the commercial context in which a dispute arises.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded litigator who is looking to develop their experience within a high-quality, collegiate and supportive environment, while taking on increasing responsibility and gaining meaningful exposure to Partners and clients.

The Firm & Culture

The firm has built its reputation around the quality of its people, the strength of its client relationships and the standard of advice it provides.

The culture is collegiate, approachable and team-focused, with individuals encouraged to contribute ideas, take ownership of their work and play an active role in the development of the practice.

There is a genuine emphasis on working as a team rather than operating in silos. Associates have the opportunity to work closely with Partners and more senior lawyers, gaining insight into both the legal and strategic aspects of matters.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The firm also places importance on providing lawyers with the opportunity to develop beyond pure technical expertise. Associates are encouraged to build confidence in dealing with clients, understand the commercial drivers behind disputes and develop the skills required to progress their careers over the longer term.

For the right individual, this provides an opportunity to join a team where hard work and high standards are recognised, development is encouraged and individuals are trusted with meaningful responsibility.

The Role

The successful candidate will join an established litigation practice and will work across a varied caseload of commercial disputes. The role will provide exposure to matters from the early pre-action stage through to settlement, mediation, arbitration and trial. You will have the opportunity to develop your experience across a range of contentious matters and will work closely with Partners and other members of the team.

You will be encouraged to take ownership of your work and will have the opportunity to become increasingly involved in the strategic management of matters.

The role offers a good balance between independent responsibility and collaborative team working, with the successful candidate expected to manage their own workload while also contributing to larger and more complex disputes.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience of shareholder disputes, fraud claims, contractual disputes, company disputes or other complex commercial litigation. The successful candidate will be someone who is comfortable taking responsibility for their work while recognising when to seek guidance from more senior colleagues.

You will be commercially minded, intellectually curious and able to approach disputes with a focus on finding practical solutions for clients.

Strong interpersonal skills are also important. The role will suit someone who enjoys working collaboratively, is comfortable engaging with clients and colleagues and is keen to develop their profile within a growing and well-regarded practice.

Why Consider the Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join a well-regarded commercial litigation practice with a strong reputation for the quality of its work and client service.

The role would particularly suit an Associate who is looking for a genuine step forward in responsibility and development, rather than simply another position working within a large litigation team.
