Senior Associate – Commercial Litigation (Partner Track)

Location: Liverpool (Hybrid Working: 4 Days Office / 1 Day Home)
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: Excellent package available | Up to £90,000+ DOE

About the Firm

An established and highly respected commercial law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join its growing Commercial Litigation team in Liverpool.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious litigator looking to take the next step towards Partnership. Working closely with the Head of Department and Partners, you'll play a key role in the continued growth of the team, advising on high-quality commercial disputes while helping to develop the firm's client base and market presence.

The team acts for a broad range of owner-managed businesses, corporate organisations, directors, shareholders, investors, lenders, landlords and high-net-worth individuals across a varied commercial disputes practice.

The Opportunity

This role is suited to an established Senior Associate who is looking for a genuine long-term career path.

You'll enjoy significant autonomy, manage complex commercial disputes, mentor junior lawyers and work closely with senior management to help shape the future of the department.

Alongside servicing an excellent existing client base, you'll be encouraged and supported to further develop your own network and client following, with a clear route towards Partnership for the right individual.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing your own varied commercial litigation caseload from instruction through to resolution.
  • Advising clients on litigation strategy, commercial risk and dispute resolution.
  • Preparing pleadings, witness statements, applications and other court documentation.
  • Attending hearings, mediations and settlement negotiations.
  • Working alongside Partners on complex and high-value litigation.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Supporting business development initiatives and networking activities.
  • Helping to generate new instructions through your own professional contacts and profile within the market.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team where appropriate.

About You

Applications are welcomed from experienced Senior Associate Commercial Litigation Solicitors who are looking for genuine progression.

You will ideally have:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years' PQE in Commercial Litigation or Dispute Resolution.
  • Experience operating at Senior Associate level or equivalent.
  • A proven track record of independently managing complex commercial litigation matters.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and litigation processes.
  • Excellent drafting, advocacy and client management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to provide pragmatic advice.
  • A developing profile within the legal and business community.
  • Experience in business development, networking and generating work.
  • The ambition and capability to progress into a future Partnership position.
