Commercial Management Accountant

Nutrition Geeks (Unicorn Brands Ltd) Rewarding base + performance-based bonus
Luton – On Site

Company Overview

The Mission: Make high-quality nutrition & supplements accessible and affordable to everyone.

Founded in 2020, Nutrition Geeks is one of the fastest-growing health & wellness brands in the UK – on track to hit nine figures in revenue. From becoming the #1 supplement brand on both TikTok Shop and Amazon UK to scaling our DTC website by over 2000% year-on-year, we've built one of the most dynamic teams in the consumer goods space. We manufacture and blend our own products in-house, and are actively expanding our production and fulfilment footprint as we prepare to enter the US market.

As we continue to scale in the UK and internationally, we're looking for a Commercial Management Accountant to own the month-end management accounts process and act as a finance business partner to our Operations and Marketing teams.

Check out our products here: https://www.nutritiongeeks.co/

About the Role

As our Commercial Management Accountant, you'll take ownership of the month-end close and management accounts process, working closely with the Finance Leader to deliver accurate, insightful reporting on time, every time. Alongside this, you'll act as the day-to-day finance business partner to Production, Marketing, and Supply Chain & Fulfilment (Operations) – helping all three teams understand the numbers behind their decisions, from batch and pick costs to marketing ROI. You'll also lead our quarterly forecast cycles and annual planning process, and provide the KPI reporting and ad hoc analysis that keeps the leadership team on top of performance week to week.

This is a hands-on, high-visibility role in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial eCommerce and manufacturing business. You'll get broad exposure across multi-channel commerce (Amazon FBA, Shopify, eBay, TikTok Shop), in-house production and fulfilment.

What You'll Do

Month-End Close & Management Accounts (ownership)

  • Own the month-end close timetable end-to-end, coordinating inputs and holding deadlines across the business.
  • Prepare month-end journals – accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and stock adjustments.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, accruals/prepayments schedules, and the fixed asset register.
  • Produce the monthly management accounts pack (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with clear variance commentary against budget and prior period.
  • Maintain GL coding accuracy and chart of accounts hygiene in Xero.
  • Reconcile and consolidate revenue and cost data across Amazon FBA (settlement basis), Shopify, eBay and TikTok Shop into a single management view.

Finance Business Partnering – Production

  • Business partner the Production team on COGS and standard costing for in-house production
  • Analyse yield, wastage and batch cost variances, and work with Ops to understand root causes.
  • Support inventory costing, valuation and stock-take reconciliation.
  • Build unit economics for new SKUs and production initiatives, and flag risks or opportunities as they arise.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Finance Business Partnering – Marketing

  • Business partner the Marketing team on channel-level ROAS, CAC and overall marketing spend efficiency.
  • Model the P&L impact of promotions and discounting activity before and after campaigns.
  • Act as a commercial sounding board – confident enough to challenge and influence non-finance stakeholders, not just report the numbers back to them.

Finance Business Partnering – Supply Chain & Fulfilment (Operations)

  • Business partner the Supply Chain and Fulfilment teams on cost performance and operational efficiency.
  • Track and analyse pick costs and other fulfilment cost drivers, working with Operations to identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Track production costs alongside the Production team, identifying efficiency levers and cost-out opportunities on the production side.
  • Provide financial input into capacity planning as production and fulfilment footprint expands.

Forecasting, Planning & Financial Analysis

  • Lead and deliver the quarterly forecast cycles and the annual planning process, coordinating inputs from across the business.
  • Analyse performance vs. forecast and prior year to identify risks, opportunities and commercial levers, and bring these to the leadership team.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support commercial decision-making and new business cases.
  • Analyse revenue, gross profit, product margins and overall business performance.
  • Support scenario modelling and ad-hoc financial analysis for new initiatives, including early support for US market entry.

Inventory & Working Capital

  • Monitor stock valuation, slow-moving and obsolete stock provisioning.
  • Support management of the working capital cycle as production and fulfilment capacity expands.

Audit & Controls

  • Support the year-end statutory audit process – preparing schedules, reconciliations and responses to auditor queries.
  • Maintain supporting documentation to an audit-ready standard as part of business-as-usual work, not just at year end.

Reporting & Business Insights

  • Own daily and weekly KPI reporting, giving the leadership team a real-time view of trading performance.
  • Produce monthly management reporting and KPI dashboards.
  • Help prepare board reporting and performance commentary.
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis on demand for the leadership team, from quick commercial questions to deeper investigative work.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders across the business.

Data & Process Improvement

  • Maintain reporting templates and financial models in Xero to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Support automation projects and continuous improvement across finance processes.
  • Assist with improving reporting tools, dashboards and analytical capability, including using AI/automation to remove manual reporting effort.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years' experience in Finance, FP&A, Commercial Finance or Finance Analyst roles, ideally including ownership of a month-end close and a forecasting/budgeting cycle.
  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or equivalent by experience – study support available.
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to build and manipulate financial models to the appropriate level of complexity.
  • Naturally analytical with excellent attention to detail, and commercially curious about what drives business performance.
  • Confident, clear communicator, able to explain financial information to – and hold your own with – non-finance stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-scaling business – able to set your own direction rather than waiting to be told what to do.
  • Experience in eCommerce, DTC, retail, FMCG or consumer goods highly advantageous; multi-channel marketplace experience (Amazon Seller Central, Shopify, TikTok Shop) a strong plus.
  • Experience with Xero, Power BI, SQL or similar analytical tools beneficial but not essential.
  • Genuine interest in how AI is changing finance, and how it might apply to reporting and analysis at Nutrition Geeks.

What Success Looks Like

  • Month-end close delivered accurately and to a consistent timetable, with a management accounts pack that needs minimal rework.
  • Production, Marketing and Operations teams treat you as a trusted commercial advisor, not just a reporting function.
  • Quarterly forecasts and the annual plan delivered on time, with variance analysis that surfaces real risks and opportunities before they become problems.
  • Forecasts and models that are actually used to make commercial decisions.
  • Clean, audit-ready records maintained as standard practice, easing the annual statutory audit.
  • Continuous improvements to reporting, processes and analytical capability as the business scales toward US entry.

Why Join Nutrition Geeks?

  • Competitive base salary + performance-based bonus
  • Private healthcare
  • Company pension
  • 30 days holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Free Nutrition Geeks supplements
  • Huge career growth potential as we scale internationally
  • Work alongside a passionate, high-performing team in one of the UK's fastest-growing DTC brands

At Nutrition Geeks, we're building a team of diverse, driven A-Players who love what they do. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and will support you throughout the recruitment process. If you require any reasonable adjustments, please let us know.
