Company Description

Ricketts Earthworks is a specialist earthwork and enabling works contractor delivering site preparation, bulk excavation, cut and fill operations, remediation works, material movement, and associated early-stage construction activity.

We are the sister company of HD Ricketts, an established family-run business operating across transport, aggregates, quarrying, waste management, and recycling.

This relationship provides Ricketts Earthworks with access to extensive operational resources, including internal transport, aggregate supply, recycling infrastructure, and approved disposal facilities.

By coordinating these connected services, we provide clients with a more controlled approach to earthworks delivery, helping to improve programme certainty, simplify project interfaces, and maintain clearer commercial oversight.

We are now looking to appoint a Commercial Manager to support the continued growth of Ricketts Earthworks and strengthen our relationships across the construction sector.

This is an opportunity to join Ricketts Earthworks at an important stage in its development. We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership, help shape the direction of the business, and play a leading role in its continued growth.

The Role

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for identifying new project opportunities, developing client relationships, and supporting the business through the tender and pre-construction process.

Working closely with the estimating, commercial, and operational teams, the successful applicant will help maintain a strong pipeline of suitable opportunities and ensure that client requirements are clearly communicated throughout each stage.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
