Job Purpose

Lead the commercial development of Yonex UK by driving sustainable sales growth, strengthening strategic retail partnerships and supporting the continued development of a consumer-focused, commercially driven business. The role is responsible for leading the sales team, improving commercial planning and ensuring alignment across key business functions and channels.

Commercial Strategy

  • Develop and implement the UK commercial plan.
  • Drive delivery of annual sales and profit targets.
  • Identify opportunities for growth across key product categories and channels.
  • Ensure commercial activities align with Yonex's business strategy and priorities.

Key Account Management

  • Lead relationships with strategic retail partners.
  • Develop joint business plans with key customers.
  • Identify opportunities to develop distribution and category penetration.
  • Support growth within both existing and new accounts.

Sales Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop the field sales team.
  • Set clear objectives and performance expectations.
  • Develop a more strategic approach to account management, customer development and commercial planning.
  • Improve account planning and customer engagement.

Commercial Planning & Forecasting

  • Own the commercial forecasting process and drive improvements in forecast accuracy.
  • Work closely with Product and Marketing to improve demand planning.
  • Review sales performance, inventory position and future opportunities.
  • Support improved stock management and inventory health.

Consumer & Market Insight

  • Work with Marketing and e-commerce teams to understand consumer behaviour.
  • Use market data and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.
  • Support growth across agreed strategic categories.
  • Identify opportunities to maximise the commercial value of strategic partnerships, sponsorships and major events.
  • Ensure customer and consumer insights influence commercial decisions.

Cross Functional Leadership

  • Act as the commercial link across Sales, Marketing, Product and Operations.
  • Work closely with e-commerce to support an effective omnichannel approach.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and business planning.
  • Drive accountability and collaboration across departments.

Key Measures of Success

  • Sales growth versus budget.
  • Gross margin performance.
  • Forecast accuracy.
  • Inventory health.
  • Growth of strategic accounts.
  • Growth across agreed strategic categories.
  • Sales team development and performance.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a commercial leadership role within sport, outdoor, consumer goods or retail.
  • Strong understanding of wholesale and e-commerce channels.
  • Experience managing key retail accounts.
  • Strong commercial planning, forecasting and analytical capability.
  • Ability to influence and work across multiple departments.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience leading and developing teams.
  • Experience working within an international organisation would be advantageous.
