Senior Commercial Manager – Payments
Location: London – 2 days per week in the office
Rate: £750 per day Inside IR35
Duration: 12 months
Preferred Start Date: 1st November
Contract: Day-rate contract
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced FinTech Commercial Manager to support the execution of a FinTech commercial strategy, driving day-to-day commercial activity and supporting payments-related initiatives.
Working within a Commercial Partnerships team, you will play a key role in delivering scalable commercial initiatives, supporting partner-facing activities, and helping drive revenue and adoption across FinTech and payments products. This is a high-ownership role requiring strong commercial judgement, autonomy, and the ability to connect operational execution with wider business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Execution & Enablement
- Support and independently execute commercial initiatives across payments and FinTech products.
- Translate commercial priorities into clear actions and ensure readiness across internal teams.
- Contribute to initiatives that drive partner adoption, revenue growth and operational efficiency.
- Proactively identify commercial risks and opportunities and support appropriate mitigation or optimisation.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Legal, Finance, Operations and other cross-functional teams.
- Ensure alignment between commercial strategy and operational execution.
- Clearly communicate business objectives, priorities and trade-offs to stakeholders.
- Maintain a strong focus on outcomes and effective decision-making.
Commercial Analysis & Business Support
- Contribute to commercial analysis, reporting and insights supporting FinTech initiatives.
- Assess performance and identify trends, opportunities and adoption drivers.
- Analyse partner behaviour and commercial performance across payments and payout flows.
- Support the evaluation of new commercial opportunities.
Operational Readiness & Execution
- Plan and deliver commercial and payments-related initiatives, ensuring strong operational readiness.
- Own workstream timelines, follow-ups, documentation and stakeholder communications.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve workflow efficiency.
- Strengthen documentation and process standards.
- Proactively identify blockers and propose solutions before escalation.
Ownership & Delivery
- Take end-to-end ownership of assigned workstreams with minimal supervision.
- Balance speed, quality and commercial priorities when managing complex initiatives.
- Provide structure, context and guidance to junior team members where appropriate.
- Drive tasks through to completion and ensure high-quality execution.

About You
You will ideally have:
- 5+ years' experience in commercial operations, partnerships, payments, FinTech or a related business environment.
- A strong commercial mindset and understanding of revenue drivers, partner economics and business trade-offs.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of complex workstreams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present data, insights and commercial performance.
- A proactive approach to identifying issues and developing commercially sound solutions.
- Experience within payments, FinTech or financial services is highly desirable.
- Flight/aviation industry experience is a plus.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline is preferred.
