Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, results-driven Commercial Manager with scheduling experience to help drive revenue growth and efficiency and increase our brand visibility in a competitive market. The successful candidate will assist with developing bids and tenders and provide scheduling expertise to help develop operationally robust, compliant and cost-effective solutions. You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Commercial and Finance colleagues to ensure proposals are deliverable and aligned with business objectives.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitor tendering platforms for commercial opportunities and tenders
- Review tender requirements and develop compliant timetable solutions that are customer focused, operational robust and reliable and efficient.
- Coordinate all tender requirements and ensure bids are submitted by deadline.
- Produce vehicle workings and driver duties and rotas that are efficient and compliant to the scheduled agreements.
- Ensure proposed timetables and schedules are efficient and operationally robust and reliable
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability and resource utilisation.
- Produce the scheduling outputs and costing information required to populate the bid model and data templates for submission with the bid
- Contribute to bid reviews, presentations and stakeholder meetings as required.
- Contribute to the business growth plan by establishing efficiencies within existing scheduling and driver rotas.
- Monitor performance and be the key accounts contact for local authority contracts
- Monitor and report KPI’s (including but not limited to punctuality, service delivery, lost mileage, driver hour efficiency, daily performance reports etc) and provide key insights and actions needed.
- Contribute to any action plans for improvement where required.
- Ensure project deadlines and key milestones are achieved.
- Update ticketer with scheduled timetable or duty changes.
- Update bushub and ticketer with any fare structure changes.
- Update DAS payroll system with any duty changes.
- Management of Transxchange files and ensuring their compliance and compatibility with local authority requirements.

Essential Criteria
- An experienced scheduler with experience of one or more scheduling software packages.
- Significant experience in timetable development, vehicle scheduling and driver scheduling.
- Experience in contributing to tenders and bids.
- Ability to interpret operational data and develop practical scheduling solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills

Hours of Work
40 hours per week Monday to Friday
