Commercial Lead - Rolls-Royce Framework

Location: Flexible with travel to Rolls-Royce sites as required

This is a high-profile opportunity for an accomplished commercial professional to influence business performance at the highest level, lead a talented commercial team, and drive value across a complex portfolio of projects and programmes.


The Opportunity

As Commercial Lead, you will act as the senior commercial authority for the Rolls-Royce Framework, taking ownership of commercial strategy, contractual position, financial performance, risk management and value creation.

Reporting into the Framework Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in protecting and enhancing margin, maximising commercial recovery, improving cash performance and ensuring robust commercial governance across all framework activities.

You will work closely with senior client stakeholders, project teams, supply chain partners and business leaders to deliver outstanding commercial outcomes while supporting the continued growth of the partnership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic commercial leadership across the Rolls-Royce Framework portfolio.
  • Own commercial performance, including margin, cash generation, working capital and risk management.
  • Lead high-value negotiations with clients, suppliers and strategic partners.
  • Drive commercial excellence throughout the project lifecycle from concept and pre-construction through to final account settlement.
  • Lead change management, claims, commercial entitlement and recovery strategies.
  • Ensure effective implementation of NEC and JCT contractual mechanisms.
  • Develop and maintain robust forecasting, reporting and commercial governance processes.
  • Lead procurement and supply chain strategies to deliver best value and performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Rolls-Royce stakeholders and framework partners.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for commercial improvement, value engineering and operational efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing commercial team.

We are keen to speak with commercially driven leaders who can demonstrate:

  • Significant commercial leadership experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, projects or facilities management environments.
  • Experience managing complex portfolios valued in excess of £50m annually.
  • Strong NEC contract expertise, with knowledge of JCT contracts highly desirable.
  • Proven success in delivering margin improvement, commercial recovery and cash generation.
  • Extensive experience managing claims, variations, final accounts and contractual entitlement.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and client relationship management skills.
  • Experience leading commercial teams and developing commercial talent.
  • The ability to influence, challenge and support senior business leaders and clients.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • MRICS qualification.
  • CIPS membership or qualification.
  • NEC Accreditation.
  • Experience within aerospace, defence, nuclear or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Eligibility for security clearance.
