We are recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a major rail infrastructure programme on an interim basis. This role requires strong client-side NEC contract management experience within infrastructure, construction or rail environments.

Key Details

  • Contract: Until February 2027
  • Location: Stratford, London (Hybrid, 2-3 days office / 2 days WFH)
  • Rate: £388.10 PAYE or £529.95 Umbrella (Inside IR35)
  • Start: ASAP
  • Interview: Single-stage interview
  • Equipment: Own laptop required

The Role

You'll support the commercial delivery of a major infrastructure programme, managing NEC contracts, commercial risks, procurement activities and stakeholder relationships across a complex project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage NEC construction contracts and post-contract commercial activities.
  • Administer compensation events, change control, early warnings and applications for payment.
  • Manage commercial risks, claims, budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare commercial reporting and cashflow forecasts.
  • Support procurement activity and commercial governance.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and project teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong infrastructure, construction or rail background.
  • Client-side NEC3/NEC4 contract management experience.
  • Experience on major procurements or contracts valued at £50m-£70m+.
  • Experience managing compensation events, claims and contract change.
  • Strong commercial governance, risk and budget management experience.
  • Experience within public sector infrastructure, construction or regulated environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
