Commercial Manager

We are recruiting for experienced Commercial Managers to join a major London organisation on an interim basis.

These roles sit within the Procurement & Commercial team and will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activity, supporting stakeholders across the business, and delivering procurement projects in line with governance requirements and the Procurement Act 2023.

The successful candidates will be confident managing multiple procurements simultaneously, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and providing commercial advice throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Key Details

  • Contract: Until 18 December 2026 (strong likelihood of extension)
  • Location: Southwark and Stratford, London (50% office-based and 50% remote working)
  • Rate: £388.10 PAYE / £529.95 Umbrella per day (Inside IR35)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Interview Process: 1-stage interview

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement activity across a range of procurement projects.
  • Deliver procurement projects in line with governance requirements and the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Support stakeholders across the business throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Deliver procurements across goods, services and works categories.
  • Manage procurements ranging from lower-value activity through to strategic frameworks and large-scale procurement projects.
  • Provide commercial advice and support to stakeholders.
  • Build effective working relationships across the organisation.
  • Manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously while meeting business requirements.

Essential Experience

Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Strong experience delivering public sector procurements.
  • Knowledge and practical application of the Procurement Act 2023
  • Previous experience with TfL or Network Rail would be highly advantageous.
  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end procurements.
  • Experience across goods, services and works categories.
  • Knowledge of governance and approval processes.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Confidence managing competing priorities and challenging conversations.
  • Experience delivering procurements within large, complex organisations.

Desirable Experience

  • SAP Ariba experience.
  • MCIPS or other recognised procurement qualification.
