Commercial Manager – Optician Portfolio
Hybrid: Herne Hill (3 days in the office) Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 + uncapped commission Contract: Permanent, full-time

We’re looking for an ambitious Commercial Manager to help drive the next phase of growth across our market-leading optician portfolio. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a well-established and respected brand, working with some of the biggest names in the optical sector while developing innovative commercial partnerships that deliver real value for clients.
You'll have the freedom to:

About the Role
This Commercial Manager position spans media, digital, recruitment, subscriptions, events, and sponsorship, playing a central role in:
- Growing revenue
- Strengthening client relationships
- Bringing new ideas to market

Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth by proactively prospecting, networking, and building new relationships.
- Develop and manage strategic accounts—both existing and prospective—increasing spend and securing long-term revenue.
- Sell integrated commercial solutions across:
- Print and digital
- Events and sponsorship
- Subscriptions
- Recruitment services
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline through client meetings, market outreach, exhibitions, and industry conferences.
- Represent the brand at UK-wide industry events to build leads, retain relationships, and enhance market visibility.
- Collaborate with editorial, production, and marketing teams to ensure campaign success and client satisfaction.
- Extract market insights from client feedback to identify opportunities and exercise influence over commercial strategy.
- Contribute to product and service development, helping to expand revenue streams and deliver budget goals.

Key Requirements
Must-haves:
- Proven experience in sales, business development, and account management, with a track record of generating new revenue and nurturing accounts.
- Ability to build relationships with senior decision-makers and form long-term partnerships.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated consultative selling with adaptive strategies, aligning offerings with client goals.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across internal and external stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves (but not essential):
- Experience in publishing, B2B media, healthcare markets, recruitment, or data solutions would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with integrated media, digital, sponsorship,and recruitment-based products within a commercial setting.
- Proven ability to identify new revenue streams or contribute to product innovation initiatives.
- An understanding or background in optical or professional markets.
