By bringing together expert guidance, genuine community, personalised experiences and innovative technology, we make wellness feel accessible, welcoming and easy to navigate. Virgin Active is committed to recruiting the finest people who share our passion for creating exceptional experiences and delivering world-class service every day. We are looking for a Commercial Manager to join our Acquisition team.

Role Type: Full time

Number of Hours: 40

In this role, you will play a part in the club’s commercial performance, driving membership growth, revenue, and profitability through a premium, customer focused sales strategy. You will inspire and develop a high performing team, optimise the member journey from first enquiry to long term retention, and use data driven insights to deliver exceptional commercial results and member experiences.

The Role

  • Holding total accountability for the club’s commercial results, including membership revenue, net movement, POS value, total wallet size, sales volume, quality of sale, and sales mix.
  • Driving corporate sales pipeline activity, strategic partnerships, lead flow, conversion optimisation, and full oversight of the prospect journey.
  • Delivering accurate weekly and monthly commercial planning and activity modelling to support performance.
  • Shifting the team from mid market, volume based selling to a premium, value driven model by positioning membership as a premium lifestyle and enhancing sales storytelling through personas, emotional drivers, and tailored value propositions.
  • Coaching the team to deliver short, elegant, emotionally resonant conversations and embedding quality of sale measures into daily performance reviews.
  • Ensuring accurate CRM (Dynamics) usage, predictive insights, and data led prioritisation to increase conversion, reduce drop off, and grow POS value.
  • Ensuring delivery of the new member onboarding journey, including tailored onboarding within the first 7 days, persona aligned welcome experiences, moments of generosity, and a curated 90 day graduation moment.
  • Leading a high performance culture by setting clear KPIs, delivering disciplined one to ones, coaching premium sales skills, and identifying and developing future talent.
  • Leading by example during duty shifts, operational escalations, and member interactions, modelling exceptional standards at all times.
  • Ensuring operational and administrative excellence, including accurate membership administration, GDPR compliance, transparent reporting, and full CRM accuracy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
