The Role
This is a demanding individual contributor role with responsibility for providing commercial support to a diverse portfolio of projects from initial opportunity identification, capture through to contract completion.
You will be responsible for all aspects of commercial support including pre-sales customer bidding, shaping and strategy and post contract, risk management, change control, contract and document drafting, and dispute resolution.
You will be a senior member of a dynamic commercial team led by an experienced Commercial Director, where your hard work and professional experience will be expected to generate innovative commercial solutions.
Day to day you will be expected to manage your projects portfolio with minimal supervision and have experience of leading negotiations and managing complex contracts.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Works closely with the Business Development and project teams to structure, negotiate and close compelling customer contracts to both commercial and defence markets in accordance with QinetiQ approvals
- Provides comprehensive support and advice on contractual and commercial matters relevant to all market areas
- Ensures that the Business follows QinetiQ Commercial governance and establishes commercial best practice appropriate to the Business
- Works closely with other QinetiQ functions (IP, Legal, Insurance, Risk, Contracts, Projects, and Bid Management) to manage these aspects of the project, opportunity or bid to QinetiQ standards, and help and advice when required
- Drafts, negotiates and manages NDAs, MoUs, Teaming Agreements, TAAs and Shareholder Agreements
Essential experience of the Commercial Manager:
- A proven track record of structuring, negotiating and closing deals
- A significant record of commercial management
- Used to working with the UK MoD and Defence Industry Prime Contractors
- Previous experience of providing relevant advice on all commercial aspects of transactions and agreements

Desirable qualifications for the Commercial Manager:
- Degree educated in relevant business field
- MCIPS qualified or similar

This role is 37 hours per week and can be based out of our Farnborough head office with an average attendance of 3 days per week onsite.
