Astute’s Nuclear Team is partnering with an international player in the nuclear energy market to recruit a Commercial Manager for their facility in Bristol.

The Commercial Manager will provide Commercial oversight and control to ensure delivery of projects in line with client-side commercial arrangements in line with company strategy and both operational and financial targets.

The Commercial Manager role comes with a salary of around £65,000 dependant on experience as well as an enhanced pension and other brilliant benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Commercial Manager role

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager you will:

  • Ensure all Commercial processes (including Procurement) are implemented and followed
  • Contribute to developing processes to improve and maximise growth
  • Draft and develop (in conjunction with Legal) robust Commercial documents to protect the interests and maximise the opportunities for Framatome Ltd
  • Ensure that the organisation complies with the contract obligations as stated
  • Communicate with internal and external parties in a contract, so that all understand the terms and particularly the contracts financial aspects
  • Coach and develop employees on best practices for managing complex contract issues
  • Nurture relationships with clients to ensure long term delivery and value for the company
  • Involvement in negotiating and agreeing contracts prior to contract placement
  • Involvement with the bid process to highlight commercial risk
  • Accept extra duties as situations arise

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Proven experience in a Junior contract/commercial management role, particularly in handling high value, complex, contracts.
  • Good background in corporate finance, with a good understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and cost management.
  • Foundational experience in complex negotiations and stakeholder management, demonstrating an ability to handle high-pressure situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Strong knowledge of contract terms and construction industry regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply them to projects.
