Interim Commercial Manager | Defence | 6 Months | Inside IR35 | South West / Hybrid | SC Cleared
We’re supporting a fast-growing business in the defence sector that is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join them on an exciting period of growth.
This is a genuinely customer-facing, commercially autonomous role, with responsibility across the full contract lifecycle — from pre-signature commercial engagement and negotiation through to post-signature contract management.
The opportunity
You’ll work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to shape and protect commercial outcomes, taking ownership of commercial strategy, negotiations, and contractual matters.

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and can confidently take the lead on T&Cs, negotiation, and commercial risk.
Key requirements:
- Strong commercial/contract management experience within the defence sector
- SC clearance (essential)
- Proven experience working directly with customers
- Experience across both pre- and post-signature commercial activity
- Strong understanding and practical experience of T&Cs and contract negotiation
- Comfortable working autonomously and making sound commercial decisions
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growing organisation
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
