Position: Commercial Manager
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Corby, Northamptonshire (flexible working pattern – Hybrid working - depending on business needs)
Salary: circa £80K, plus twice-yearly bonus (to be discussed), Private Medical
Industry: Construction & Refurbishment
PRS has engaged with a key client and an established contractor specialising in construction and refurbishment projects across various industries such as, stadium and venues, food & beverage manufacturers, industrial facilities and commercial development sectors.
Due to business growth and industry demand, we are seeking a Commercial Manager with a progression path outlined to become Commercial Director. As Commercial Manager you will oversee general contracting duties and responsibilities. A strong business book valued at £10M with the view to increase and rise to £20M over the next 12 months.
As Commercial Manager, some travel will be involved within close proximity to the Midlands.

- Develop and evangelise deliver commercial protocols and behaviours in the business, either directly or via commercial teams.
- Ensure that all business and project Commercial processes and procedures are implemented and administered correctly.
- Ensure all tenders are competitive, commercially viable and compliant.
- Review all tender contracts and advise on any risk or risky clauses.
- Lead on all procurement protocols and supplier / Subcontractor contracts.
- Continually review all CSP contracts and projects financial performance and ensure accuracy of reported costs and provisions.
- Support, develop and recruit (when required) commercial staff and site teams.
- Ensure all projects have monthly CVR (Contract Valuation Reports) produced for review by the Directors.
- Ensure all projects are delivered with correct commercial compliance, audit, and quality standards.
- Assist in the procurement of supply chains for projects and on-going operations.
- Manage SC and supplier applications and/or Payments.
- Resolve and conclude business and any SC final accounts.
- Ensure all contracts are administered correctly in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
- Ensure all contract variations / compensation events are correctly documented, and all relevant records are maintained and recorded.
- Ensure we are compliant with all contract obligations and that our clients are managing contracts in accordance with their obligations.
- Resolve disputes and claims.
- Be hands on when required and take ownership for any size or type of project.
- Apply a flexible ethos to work requirements, taking an ‘hands on’ approach when required.
- Ensure correct procedures and processes are implemented and administered for all financial administration requirements including JNC and Zero postings.
- Provide P and L actuals and forecasts when required.
- Monitor cash flow and debtors.
- Assist with tender evaluations, pricing and settlement.
