I’m recruiting for two senior Commercial opportunities supporting a Defence programme at Abbey Wood, Bristol.
🇬🇧 UK Nationals only
🔐 Active SC Clearance required
📍 Abbey Wood, Bristol – Hybrid
📅 1st October 2026 – 31st March 2027
💼 Inside IR35
🔹 L3 COMMERCIAL MANAGER
- 💷 Up to £625/day
- 📍 Abbey Wood – Hybrid
- 📅 6 months initially
This role sits within a structured Defence commercial environment and will focus on developing commercial strategies and supporting wider commercial activity.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver commercial strategies
- Support commercial activity using GCA frameworks
- Manage complex commercial and contractual activity
- Work closely with key stakeholders across the programme
- Support sourcing and wider commercial delivery
Experience we're particularly interested in:
- Strong working knowledge of GCA commercial frameworks
- MOD / Defence commercial experience
- Commercial strategy development
- Contract management / sourcing experience
- Experience relating to Qualifying Defence Contracts (QDCs)
- Understanding of ITAR requirements
- Direct US Commercial Sales experience would be advantageous

🔹 L4 SENIOR COMMERCIAL MANAGER
- 💷 Up to £750/day
- 📍 Abbey Wood – Hybrid
- 📅 6 months initially
This is a more strategic commercial leadership role, working across a complex Defence environment rather than focusing on one individual commercial area.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead complex senior stakeholder engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the programme
- Support the management of complex contractual matters
- Provide strategic commercial direction
- Oversee a portfolio of commercial activity
- Provide guidance and oversight to a team of commercial staff
- Work closely with existing senior commercial leads as part of a collaborative leadership group
We're looking for someone with:

- Significant MOD / Defence commercial experience
- Strong strategic commercial leadership
- Complex contract and portfolio management experience
- Excellent senior stakeholder management
- Experience leading / overseeing commercial teams
- Confidence navigating sensitive and complex commercial situations
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- A collaborative approach to leadership
