Commercial Business Manager
Property Investment
South Yorkshire
Salary: £60k - realistic OTE of £100k as a minimum
My clients are a property investment group run by two founders. The businesses are profitable, well-run, and growing, they have a good team who know what they’re doing.
What they don’t have is someone to sit between the founders and the day-to-day.
You will work alongside the founders most days, there's no corporate hierarchy to navigate and you’ll be trusted to make decisions.
You’ll also be expected to make them.
What You’ll Be Doing
The Marketing Manager brings in leads; a significant part of your role will be to convert them. That means running the pipeline, forecasting it, and making sure opportunities don’t go cold. You’ll lead negotiations, look after key clients and investors, and build relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals. You will also keep acquisitions and finance moving.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You will work closely with solicitors, lenders, and other parties so that completion dates are agreed and hit, every time. Internally, you’ll put in the structure the business needs as it grows, taking clear ownership of actions, sensible reporting, and processes for the things that must be correct first time.
You will work with the Group FD to get management information ready for the monthly board meetings and be the first port of call when something needs escalating. Most of it should be dealt with before it reaches the founders and where it does need a decision, they will want you to bring your recommendations.
What They're Looking For
- Solid commercial and relationship management experience, and a good head for numbers
- Strong negotiator, comfortable influencing people at all levels, including investors
- Experience setting up systems, processes, and reporting
- Able to run several things at once without dropping the ball

Beyond that, it’s all about character, you need to be driven and entrepreneurial but disciplined and highly organised.
This role will suit someone who’d rather build than perform administrative tasks in a BAU environment, and who is genuinely ambitious, meaning they will get bored if the role stays the same size. The founders expect it to grow and want to hire someone who’ll push for that.
When submitting your CV, please include a few lines on why this role appeals to you and why you would be successful in situ.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
