Commercial Manager
£70,000 – £80,000 + Bonus/Commission + Benefits | Permanent

Staffbase are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer of high-quality electronics products for a range of industrial applications.

We are looking for an experienced, commercially focused and sales-driven Commercial Manager to play a key role in developing new business, strengthening existing customer relationships and driving profitable growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a technical environment and can combine strong commercial skills with the ability to understand and communicate the value of technically complex products and solutions.

The Role

As Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for developing new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships and delivering the company's commercial objectives. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, procurement and finance to ensure opportunities are developed effectively, quoted competitively and converted into profitable business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the company's commercial and sales strategy.
  • Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key customers.
  • Manage the sales process from initial enquiry through to order.
  • Prepare, present and negotiate quotations, pricing and commercial terms.
  • Manage and develop the sales team
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue and grow existing customer accounts.
  • Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop commercially viable solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitors and emerging business opportunities.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events.
  • Provide regular commercial performance reports and updates to senior management.

About You

We are looking for a commercially driven individual with proven experience in sales, commercial management or business development, ideally within a technology, engineering or manufacturing environment.

You will have:

  • A proven track record of winning new business and developing existing customer accounts.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including pricing, margins and profitability.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to understand technical products and clearly communicate their value to customers.
  • Strong sales pipeline management and forecasting skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated and results-driven approach.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively across sales, engineering and manufacturing functions.
  • Experience working with technical products, solutions or projects.

Experience within electronics, communications, IoT, OEM manufacturing or systems integration would be highly advantageous.
