Commercial Manager – M&E

Working for a Tier 1 M&E contractor, managing a portfolio in the North West, with a small team of Quantity Surveyors under you.

Location: Manchester / Bolton region

Salary: £85,000 - £87,000 basic + £6,000 Car allowance + Package

Hybrid working with 2-3 days from home and 2-3 days in the office, but travel may be required to sites to meet with your team or clients.

Role Description

The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a Tier 1 M&E Contractor who’s continued growth isn’t slowing down with a record order book for 2027 and continued hiring over the next 18 months.

The North West region is looking to increase their Commercial capabilities by recruiting for a Commercial Manager with a knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical services. You will play an important part in supporting a small team of Quantity Surveyors, operating in the North West (Bolton to Manchester region). Working on new build installations and refurbishment projects in the construction phases from project award to finish and handover, worth £5m to £20m in value.

Day to day duties will include:

  • Lead the commercial management of multiple projects, from cost reporting to contract administration.
  • Prepare and submit Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and cost to complete assessments.
  • Manage and maximise project cash flow with the Quantity Surveyors on site.
  • Produce accurate cash flow and turnover forecasts.
  • Complete internal valuations, CVRs, and subcontract liability reports in line with accounting period schedules and deadlines.
  • Oversee the negotiations, and agree final accounts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure full compliance with contract terms (NEC, JCT, etc.) and internal governance requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role, working 2/3 days in the office and 2/3 days working from home.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Degree – in Quantity Surveying or Construction-based subject.
  • Construction experience and exposure to M&E packages of works
  • Living in commutable distance to Bolton/Manchester region
  • Full driving licence.
