Talented people are the key to our success.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Commercial Manager to join our team supporting the delivery of a major electricity transmission project. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading commercial role on a high-profile overhead line project, supporting delivery from Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), through design development, construction, and final project completion.

As Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial leadership across the project, managing client contracts, commercial reporting, change management, subcontractor procurement and administration, and stakeholder relationships. You will also have the opportunity to lead, develop, and mentor a growing commercial team while working closely with project delivery, engineering, and design colleagues.

This role offers exposure to a major energy infrastructure programme and provides excellent opportunities for career development within a growing portfolio of transmission and utility projects.

Role Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership

  • Lead all commercial activities across the project lifecycle, from ECI and design development through to construction and final account agreement.
  • Provide commercial guidance and support to the project leadership team.
  • Ensure robust commercial governance, controls, and compliance are maintained throughout the project.
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.

Client & Contract Management

  • Manage the client contract and function as the primary commercial point of contact.
  • Administer NEC contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations and deliverables are fulfilled.
  • Lead change management processes, including the assessment, negotiation, and agreement of compensation events.
  • Support the resolution of contractual and commercial issues while maintaining positive client relationships.

Supply Chain Management

  • Lead the procurement, administration, and commercial management of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Manage multiple subcontract packages from early engagement through to final account settlement.
  • Oversee the commercial management of design consultants and specialist subcontractors.
  • Ensure supply chain performance aligns with project objectives, budgets, and contractual requirements.

Commercial Reporting & Forecasting

  • Prepare and manage Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), forecasts, budgets, and monthly reporting requirements.
  • Monitor project costs, value, cash flow, and commercial performance.
  • Produce accurate commercial reports and recommendations for senior management.
  • Support financial planning and project forecasting activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
