Commercial Manager
EQUANS is seeking a Commercial Manager to join our team in a national role. The successful candidate can be based anywhere in the UK and must be willing to travel regularly across the country. This is a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract offering a competitive salary, company vehicle, and comprehensive benefits package.
The Commercial Manager will provide commercial support across a large complex nation wide FM services contract during a transition period of Head of Commercial and Commercial Manager roles. Working with the National Accounts commercial and operational management team to enable continuity of commercial process including KPI reconciliations, variation pricing and management of existing CCS (GCA) FM contracts.
Enabling and supporting the operational team with risk mitigation and on-going alignment of service delivery with contract position.
Supporting internal governance processes.
Enabling effective handover of commercial processes following transition.
What will you deliver?
Impact:
- Has extensive commercial and contract management experience with a proven track record of delivering post-contract activities, including:
- Defining commercial and pricing strategies while assessing risk, cost, and revenue opportunities.
- Managing commercial governance, contract variations, bid approvals, and internal stakeholder engagement.
- Supporting complex negotiations, including supplier agreements and contractual flow-downs.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, NEC FM, CCS/GCA, and complex service contracts.
- Sound financial acumen, including P&L, cashflow, contract pricing, and financial modelling.
- Producing clear reports and insights for senior stakeholders and non-commercial audiences.
- Experience leading and developing commercial teams.
- Strong leadership style focused on engagement and delivery:
- Influences and communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Data-driven decision maker with the ability to drive outcomes through collaboration and engagement.
- Resilient, self-motivated, and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Complexity:
- Support the Commercial Director in delivering commercial objectives and ensuring contract performance.
- Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to identify, manage, and resolve contractual variations and risks.
- Support negotiations and governance processes to protect the business from commercial exposure.
- Embed robust contract review and governance frameworks across contracts.
- Work collaboratively with Finance and Operations to mitigate risks and resolve issues promptly.
- Promote compliance, integrity, and adherence to the Equans Code of Conduct and safe working practices.
- Take personal accountability for delivering high standards of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Who are you?
Suitable commercial and team management experience
- Educated to degree/ diploma level in either Law, Business, Surveying (Building/Quantity), or the Built Environment (FM, Land).
- Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial (Construction Act etc).
- Ideally a member or training to be member of a chartered institution.
