Job Title

Commercial Manager

Summary

We’re seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support a major project in Glasgow within the nuclear and defence sector. This role involves leading the commercial delivery of NEC4 contracts across complex professional service scopes. It’s ideal for someone with strong NEC4 knowledge who thrives in a regulated environment and enjoys stakeholder engagement.

Salary

£70.00 – £87.00 per hour (Umbrella) or £52.02 – £64.59 per hour (PAYE equivalent)

Location and Working Pattern

Glasgow – Hybrid working (minimum 3 days on-site per week, potentially increasing to 5 as required)

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial delivery under NEC4 contracts across professional services work scopes
  • Manage compensation events, early warnings and Defined Cost mechanisms
  • Provide robust commercial leadership to ensure compliance and value for the project
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to resolve contractual and commercial issues
  • Monitor financial performance and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure adherence to governance and reporting requirements
  • Support risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Maintain records and documentation aligned with contractual standards

Must-have Requirements

  • Extensive experience operating under NEC4 contracts, preferably the Professional Services Contract (PSC)
  • Proven track record handling compensation events, early warnings and Defined Cost on live projects
  • Strong commercial leadership background within engineering, infrastructure, nuclear or defence sectors
  • Eligibility for UK Security Check (SC) clearance – British National status required
  • Ability to work on-site in Glasgow a minimum of three days per week (up to five when needed)
