Role and Scope:

The Commercial Manager (FTC) will support our UK energy services business, carry out commercial analysis and advise the management team to inform business decisions. This role requires ownership of commercial policy, processes and reviews from initial prospecting through to contract signature and ongoing commercial management through to contract completion.

Responsibilities:

This is a senior role and so the following is indicative of the responsibilities to be undertaken, but by no means exhaustive:

  • Support the Sales, Development, Engineering, Construction, O&M and M&V teams to ensure successful set up and delivery of contracts for our customers on commercially reasonable terms.
  • Lead due diligence on commercial deals and provide analysis and advice to management.
  • Develop innovative commercial solutions to secure pipeline and solve challenges.
  • Prepare business plans and financial models to determine economics of project/asset investment deals.
  • Approval and monitoring of contractual arrangements.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Create and maintain data analytics tools for key performance indicators across the business.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the UK and European strategy.
  • Actively scan for M&A opportunities and participate in acquisition process.
  • Maintain our business-level key risk register and manage mitigations.
  • Establish and maintain a network of key internal and external relationships.
  • Adherence to, and continuous improvement of, QMS procedures.

Person Specification Minimum:

  • 2:1 degree in Business or Accounting.
  • High-performing individual with demonstrated track record of leading or advising on commercial deals and negotiations to deliver growth.
  • Experience of complex strategic sales and deals in the Energy Services or similar sector.
  • Confident and experienced individual capable of advising and communicating with Ameresco decision makers at senior levels.
  • Experience working on UK Public Sector Tender Frameworks e.g. ReFIT, Essentia, CEF, SNDEE, LHC.
  • Commercially and financially astute with experience of analysing and negotiating client contracts including EPC, O&M, ESPC, PPA, EaaS.
  • Experience of carrying out due diligence on investments in the energy sector.
  • Demonstrated commitment to environmental, social and governance principles.
  • Passion for supporting the energy transition.

Personal Attributes:

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and have a flexible approach to work. You will be customer focused, passionate about energy efficiency and renewable energy and likely a well-known leading figure in the UK energy services sector. You should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills including the ability to prioritise work under pressure and drive completion within deadlines. The job requires the willingness to travel across UK and Europe, while based in either our Central London or Bristol Office.
