Commercial Manager | Fast-Growing MEP Contractor
Location: Birmingham or Bristol

About the Opportunity:
An established and fast-growing MEP contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join its expanding commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute leader to oversee a portfolio of major construction projects while managing and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors. Working on high-value projects across sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, residential and mixed-use developments, you will play a pivotal role in driving profitability, managing commercial risk and ensuring successful project delivery.
The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for the commercial performance of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Administrators.
- Managing the commercial performance of a portfolio of projects.
- Producing and reviewing cost value reconciliations (CVRs), budgets and commercial reporting.
- Managing project cash flow, forecasting and financial performance.
- Ensuring contractual compliance and mitigating commercial risk.
- Overseeing valuations, variations, final accounts and subcontractor management.
- Supporting project teams to maximise profitability and commercial outcomes.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across commercial processes.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the MEP, Building Services or Construction sector.
- Strong leadership experience managing commercial teams.
- Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management.
- Strong financial reporting, forecasting and cost management skills.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, commercially driven approach with excellent attention to detail.
