Commercial Manager

We’re looking for a Commercial Manager to join a leading engineering and power solutions firm specialising in the data centre space, based in London!

The ideal candidate will be a Commercial Manager who has proven experience delivering end-to-end hyperscale data centre projects – specifically looking after M&E power solutions, generators, and prime power systems.

Responsibilities of a Commercial Manager on a data centre:

  • Full project commercial control from contract award to final account.
  • Subcontract procurement, negotiation, and contract placement.
  • Subcontractor account management, valuation, payment, and final account.
  • Client applications and valuations.
  • Cost control, forecasting, and CVRs/CBRs.
  • Variations, claims, and change management.
  • Commercial support to Project Managers and engineers.

Requirements to be a Commercial Manager working on a data centres:

  • Proven experience running large construction or infrastructure projects commercially.
  • Strong subcontract background.
  • Experience managing major projects from start to finish.
  • Full final account experience, including client and subcontract accounts.
  • Strong cost control and forecasting experience.
  • Variations and claims experience.
  • Comfortable running multiple packages and projects in parallel.
  • Experience leading and managing Quantity Surveyors, or ready to step into that.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Delivery-focused approach.
  • Strong Excel and commercial reporting capability.
  • Comfortable leading and coaching others to achieve common goals.
