We have multiple opportunities for Commercial Managers to join us at Siemens Mobility UKI, our teams support projects in major cities, regional networks and emerging transport programmes nationwide. These roles require hybrid working and a minimum of three days per week in the office.

About the Role

A career in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management at Siemens Mobility means working on projects that make a real difference. Our teams support the delivery of major rail and infrastructure programmes across the UK, partnering with organisations such as HS2, Network Rail, Transport for London, ScotRail and Transport for Wales. From large-scale enhancements to landmark transport schemes, you'll help shape the future of sustainable mobility while developing your career with a global industry leader.

We're hiring across Glasgow, Ireland, Manchester, York, Derby, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Birmingham, Chippenham, London and Croydon, supporting technologies including signalling, electrification, telecoms, SCADA, digital railway and traffic management.

Join Siemens Mobility's Rail Infrastructure business and help deliver some of the UK's most exciting transport projects.

What You‘ll Make a Difference By

  • Being responsible for project and work package change control and management
  • Presenting periodic project commercial performance
  • Providing key commercial interface for responsible work package manager
  • Providing contractual & commercial support to Project Managers and Engineering
  • Responsible for work package cost management, including forecasting, budget management and control
  • Monitor and actively manage and mitigate work package risks
  • Provides input to internal and external commercial reports as required by Commercial Delivery Strategy
  • Ensure processes and contract administration complies with the appropriate Company standards
  • Establish and maintain leadership interfaces with key stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, project management, engineering, and finance teams
  • Responsible for maintaining auditable records for responsible work packages in accordance with contractual requirements

What You’ll Need To Succeed

Experience

  • Experience gained within rail, engineering, defence, construction, IT or a similar project-based industry.
  • Experience working on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Opportunity to work towards or holding a professional membership such as RICS, CICES.
  • Experience collaboratively managing multiple stakeholders across project delivery teams.

Must Haves

  • Previous Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor experience within a contractor-side project environment, with a proven track record of successful commercial delivery.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent higher education) in a relevant discipline and/or working towards or holding a professional qualification such as RICS, CICES, or similar.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing both internal and external resources such as direct labour and subcontract costs, forecasting costs, measuring completed work, and estimating/managing change and variations.
  • Experience developing and implementing commercial strategies, alongside identifying and proactively managing commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to report commercial performance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, build collaborative relationships, manage expectations, prioritise workloads effectively, and thrive in high-performing environments while promoting Siemens' high standards and reputation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites across the region.
  • Desire to be a key role in a high performing team.
