Are you an experienced Commercial Manager with a strong background in direct project delivery?

Have you worked on power, infrastructure or civil engineering projects?

Would you like to join a company that supports your development and encourages further education and training?

If so, the opportunity below could be for you!

The Commercial Manager Opportunity

Expanded Structures, the specialist reinforced concrete basement, sub and superstructure frame construction division of Laing O'Rourke, is recruiting a Commercial Manager to join the team in South Wales.

You'll be joining our team delivering the Margam & Port Talbot Substations project for National Grid, a major power infrastructure programme supporting the electrification of Tata Steel's operations and the transition to greener steel production.

The project includes the expansion of the existing Margam 275kV substation, a new substation at the Tata Steel site and the associated infrastructure connecting the two facilities. Laing O'Rourke is delivering the works as principal contractor, working closely with National Grid and project partners.

This is an opportunity to take commercial responsibility across a significant power infrastructure project, working alongside project teams, clients and supply chain partners throughout the project lifecycle.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
