Office based - Norwich, UK

Next Geosolutions (NextGeo) is an international marine geoscience and offshore construction support services provider, operating primarily across the energy, infrastructure and utilities sectors, with a particular focus on renewable energy. Our expertise spans marine geophysical and geotechnical surveys, seabed investigations, subsea cable and pipeline route surveys, environmental services and offshore construction support.
As our business continues to develop, we are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager – Offshore Geotechnical to strengthen our commercial team and help convert market opportunities into sustainable, profitable growth.
You will lead the commercial development of offshore geotechnical opportunities from initial enquiry through tender submission, negotiation and contract award. Working closely with technical, operational, procurement, finance and contracts teams, you will develop competitive proposals, protect commercial margins, manage risk and build strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and submission of major tenders and strategic opportunities.
- Develop bid strategies, commercial positioning and pricing recommendations.
- Conduct bid/no-bid assessments and provide recommendations to management.
- Establish pricing strategies, commercial assumptions and margin targets for approval.
- Prepare and review commercial proposals, qualifications and contractual deviations.
- Lead commercial and contractual reviews of client ITTs, contracts and framework agreements, working alongside the contracts team.
- Identify, assess and mitigate commercial, contractual and operational risks.
- Coordinate cross-functional input throughout the tender development process.
- Support client negotiations, tender clarifications and pre-award discussions.
- Maintain ownership of opportunities through to contract award and support effective handover to operational delivery teams.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to generate repeat business and support strategic growth.
- Capture lessons learned to continually improve tendering processes and commercial performance.

Experience Required
- Significant offshore geotechnical industry experience is essential.
- Strong experience in offshore geotechnical drilling and seabed geotechnical investigations.
- Knowledge of laboratory testing, geotechnical reporting and ground modelling.
- Proven experience developing commercial strategies, pricing recommendations and margin targets.
- Strong understanding of offshore contracting models, contractual frameworks and risk allocation.
- Ability to translate technical solutions into commercially competitive and profitable bids.
- Strong commercial, contractual and negotiation skills.
- An established network of industry contacts and client relationships within the offshore geotechnical sector.
