Commercial Manager (Offshore Wind) – Leith, Rosyth, Dundee or Grangemouth

Eden Scott are working exclusively with Forth Ports to appoint a Commercial Manager (Offshore Wind). This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineering or Commercial Professional with significant offshore wind experience to join a thriving organisation at an exciting time.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Commercial Manager (Offshore Wind) will be responsible for driving business growth and maximising revenue across Offshore Wind.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop business cases and proposals with a clear focus for Return on Investment (ROI) and long-term value creation.
  • Identify and analyse emerging trends, market opportunities, and regulatory developments. Demonstrate excellent market understanding & intelligence with detailed, current knowledge of the UK in terms of potential customers.
  • The focus for Offshore wind will be the attraction of all projects related work that would be a fit for our business. The role will also explore energy transition.
  • Market intelligence – identify and liaise with both major and niche players in the Offshore wind sector to grow and sustain robust commercial relationships. Develop excellent, trusted relationships with key customers and potential customers. Monitor market trends and undertake competitor profiling, analysing competitor capabilities, positioning, and activity to inform strategic decision-making and support business development opportunities.
  • Lead on Project identification and tender bid processes utilising the wiser business assets to develop the offering and place FP as the leading offering for Offshore Wind Projects.
  • Work with the Asset Managers to clearly assess Offshore Wind project value versus operational plans across all our Ports with a focus on Rosyth, Leith, and Dundee ports.
  • Design charging/tariff structure to reflect port charges and ensure any restrictions, security requirements or environmental considerations affecting vessel movement are incorporated. Optimise throughput, storage, and related revenue streams.
  • Ensuring all our services are delivered in accordance with contract specifications. Ensuring all Offshore Wind activities comply with relevant UK legislation and licensing requirements, with any works delivered through appropriate partnership arrangements where required. These arrangements would be managed through contractual terms, leases and LTOs, and coordinated with relevant internal departments (e.g., Asset, Legal, H&S) to support project delivery and compliance.
  • Represent Forth Ports at industry conferences and seminars.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for internal and external stakeholders, showcasing the opportunities that Forth Ports can provide.
  • Prepare regular reports on market activity, project performance, project pipeline, customer targets with appropriate evaluation of monetary value of activities and stakeholder engagement for senior management.
  • Endeavour to utilise FP wider assets and skillsets for further business.
  • Ensure clear and timely communication across all involved teams and partners.
  • Align Offshore Wind strategies with our ESG objectives.
  • Act as an ambassador at social events, promoting the company’s capabilities and values.
  • Seek feedback with our customers to drive a continuous development approach. Monitor performance metrics and gather feedback to refine our service.
  • Provide regular updates to Commercial Director, Marine management and Targe Towing on our Offshore Wind plans and activities.

  • Design and deliver 5-year plan and deliver on Offshore Wind markets.
  • Prepare Key Market presentations.
  • Prepare specialist presentations.
  • Arrange and deliver successful customer visits.
  • Provide regular updates to the Commercial Director, ensuring clear and timely communication of operational developments and strategic progress.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Substantial experience and credibility in an Engineering or Commercial position within the Offshore Wind sector.
  • Excellent commercial acumen - strong focus on ROI, cost management, and value optimisation with an excellent understanding of finance modelling.
  • Strong knowledge of UK regulations, licensing processes, and engagement with regulatory bodies.
  • Capacity to align commercial activities with wider organisational aims, especially in ESG and oil and gas and decommissioning.
  • Excellent networking skills - active participation in industry forums, conferences, and professional networks.
  • Innovative and creative – ability to think strategically about business opportunities.
  • Ability to be an excellent ambassador for our company in various forums.
