Commercial Manager

We are looking for a Commercial Manager to provide commercial leadership and support across a portfolio of contracts, bids and business opportunities, ensuring contractual commitments are effectively managed throughout the contract lifecycle. The role is responsible for protecting and enhancing business value through proactive contract management, risk management, commercial governance and stakeholder engagement.

The Commercial Manager works closely with delivery, sales, legal, procurement and finance teams to support business growth, manage contractual obligations and ensure successful operational outcomes. The role may operate independently on smaller accounts and opportunities or support Senior and Principal Commercial Managers on larger, more complex engagements.

This is a hybrid variable role requiring some office presence in Leeds / London plus possibly attending customer sites as required.

What you will be doing:

  • Commercial and Contract Management - Manage a portfolio of customer and supplier contracts, ensuring contractual obligations, rights and risks are understood and appropriately managed.
  • Bid and Business Growth Support - Act as the commercial lead for bids, proposals and new business opportunities for less complex deals within delegated authority levels. Review, draft and negotiate contractual terms and conditions, working collaboratively with legal and operational stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management - Build effective working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders. Work closely with finance, legal, procurement, information security, data protection and delivery functions to manage commercial and contractual matters.
  • Supplier and Third-Party Management - Support procurement and the business with the commercial management of suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring contractual arrangements support business and customer requirements.
  • Governance, Risk and Compliance - Identify, assess and manage commercial, contractual and operational risks throughout the bid, contract and delivery lifecycle.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
