About The Role
In this role, the successful candidate will provide day-to-day commercial management support, including commercial support during bids, contract negotiations, and across a Public Sector portfolio. The role will manage the delivery of commercial contract support to account management teams across the portfolio and lead the development of commercial solutions for projects and contractual issues.
The role will also lead on identifying and managing legal, financial, and commercial risks and opportunities in collaboration with account leads. In addition, the role will drive the adoption of, and create awareness of, commercial policies and procedures among account teams and senior managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise Contract Managers and Sector Directors on queries and interpretations regarding contract terms.
- Advise Contract Managers and Sector Directors on driving commerciality across existing contracts and new business opportunities.
- Ensure the portfolio maintains risk and opportunity registers, with all items supported by clear action plans.
- Lead the management and resolution of risks and opportunities in collaboration with operational stakeholders.
- Provide advice and support to account teams on contract variations, ensuring they are executed in accordance with specific contractual requirements and internal policies and procedures, while identifying opportunities for commercial benefit.
- Provide commercial-focused guidance and support across the organisation.
- Complete commercial records and documentation for use throughout the organisation.
- Prepare documentation and review contract documents to support the commercial team during bids and negotiations.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal systems, processes, and procedures to meet commercial requirements.
- Review and approve documents requiring internal commercial sign-off within the delegated level of authority.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Technical Competencies
- Substantial experience in managing and tendering for public sector contracts.
- Substantial experience in identifying, driving, and influencing the delivery of commercial benefits.
- Substantial experience in risk and opportunity management.
- Substantial experience in resolving complex issues.
- Substantial experience in managing and negotiating KPIs and payment mechanisms.
- Experience leading negotiations with third parties on contractual terms and conditions and schedules.
- Good working knowledge of key terms and principles relevant to contract negotiations.
- Knowledge of bid, financial, and FM-centric operational processes.
- Digitally competent.
- Substantial experience in commercial contract management.
- Experience managing and delivering various CCS/GCA frameworks, as well as JCT and NEC4 forms of contract.
Industry Competencies
- Ability to identify, understand, and explain key commercial and contractual risks and opportunities.
- Experience working with different forms of contract relevant to different sectors and packages of work.
- Excellent ability to interpret, manage, and advise on contractual obligations.
- Experience within the FM and Managed Services sector.

Further Qualifications, Certifications & Experience
Relevant professional experience, degree, or equivalent qualification in Business or other relevant subjects.
