Role Description
The Commercial Manager is a full-time, mobile/office based role based in Littlehampton, responsible for overseeing the commercial performance of projects from tender through to final account. Day-to-day tasks include:

The role involves:
- Contract negotiation and administration
- Reviewing terms and conditions
- Managing variations
- Supporting risk mitigation
The Commercial Manager will collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, and senior leadership to optimize margins, support business planning, and maintain strong client and supplier relationships. The role also requires leading and supporting commercial staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong Commercial Management skills, including experience in cost control, margin optimization, and financial oversight of construction projects.
- Solid Business Planning and Analytical Skills to support budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Effective Contract Management capabilities, including familiarity with construction contracts, variations, claims, and commercial risk management.
- Team Management skills, with experience leading, mentoring, and coordinating commercial or project teams.
- Relevant experience in construction or subcontracting, particularly in brickwork or related trades, is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in standard office and construction-related software (e.g., Excel, cost management tools) and strong attention to detail.
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
