I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Commercial Manager with a strong background in construction, ideally with experience in social housing, residential or housing-led projects.
The business is also open to considering candidates from a broader construction background who can demonstrate strong commercial and project management experience.
You may be a Commercial Manager looking for a long-term role where you can focus on delivering excellent commercial performance, rather than pursuing the next step on the career ladder.
Equally, applications will be considered from experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors or individuals operating at a senior commercial level who feel ready to take the next step into a Commercial Manager position.
You'll need to be commercially astute, confident in your decision-making and comfortable working collaboratively with operational and senior leadership teams.

- The opportunity to work on a significant and varied project portfolio.
- A stable, long-term opportunity within a supportive commercial team.
