Commercial Consultants | Central Government | SC-Cleared | £350 - £600 a day Inside IR35 DOE | London, primarily remote

Pigment Consulting specialises in the delivery of change & transformation programmes across the public sector. We partner with other consultancies, government departments, and private sector organisations to deliver high-impact solutions to embed efficiency, governance, and commercial best practices into complex work.

Several of Pigment's Central Government programmes have urgent requirements for Commercial and Procurement Consultants across varying seniority levels, to help us deliver efficiencies on some of the highest value contracts across Central Government.

We are looking for a mixture of consultants equivalent to civil service grades HEO, SEO, and Grade 7+. Tasked to land and embed on a critical engagement, you will be adding value from day one, playing a critical role across complex Central Government programmes, making a real difference.

  • Leading and managing commercial activity across complex government programmes and projects.
  • Developing and implementing commercial strategies aligned with departmental objectives.
  • Managing procurement and contract activity in accordance with public sector regulations and policies.
  • Leading negotiations with suppliers and commercial partners.
  • Managing contract performance, supplier relationships, risk, change and commercial governance.
  • Providing commercial advice and challenge to programme and senior leadership teams.
  • Supporting sourcing, tendering, contract award and mobilisation activities.
  • Managing high-value and/or complex supplier relationships.
  • Producing commercial strategies, business cases, contract documentation and governance papers.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve value for money, commercial performance and delivery outcomes.

What you'll bring to our team

  • Previous Procurement, Commercial, or Contract Management experience across a Central Government department is essential.
  • Commercial data and performance analysis
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Knowledge of Procurement Act 2023 and CCS frameworks
  • Experience with Jaggaer is highly desirable

The environment is fast paced and challenging and so you will be agile and comfortable in applying a structured approach to subject matter that may often be unfamiliar.

Most of our work can be delivered primarily remotely, with a need to be in London offices on an ad-hoc basis when required for meetings and workshops.

Due to the sensitive nature of our programmes you must hold active UK Security Clearance (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
