Commercial Manager Hertfordshire | Office Based (5 Days per Week)
£60,000 – £70,000 + Excellent Package

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a highly respected specialist contractor delivering high-end interior fit-out and refurbishment projects.

This is an exciting chance to become part of an established business with a strong pipeline of work, an excellent reputation for quality, and a collaborative team environment. The company has built long-standing relationships within the industry and is known for delivering exceptional projects to exacting standards.

The Role

As Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in protecting project profitability and supporting the successful delivery of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing the commercial performance of multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects.
  • Procuring and negotiating subcontract packages.
  • Preparing and managing valuations and applications for payment.
  • Identifying, pricing, and agreeing variations.
  • Monitoring project costs and maintaining accurate Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
  • Reviewing and approving subcontractor payments.
  • Managing projects through to final account settlement.
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
  • Producing commercial reports for senior leadership.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members where required.

About You

We're keen to speak with individuals who have:

  • Previous experience working in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role.
  • A background within a main contractor environment.
  • Experience delivering fit-out and refurbishment projects.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities effectively.
  • A commercially astute mindset with a focus on profitability and risk management.
  • The ability to work from the office five days per week.
