📍 Location: Kilburn – 3 days per week onsite

💰 Rate: TBD

This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong public sector procurement/commercial professional with proven experience across strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation and contract management.

🔹 The Role

You will lead key commercial and procurement activity, with a particular focus on technology and software sourcing, supporting a major programme focused on AI implementation across the Met.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities
  • Managing sourcing activity for a £25m Dynamic Market Agreement
  • Supporting pilots and competitive procurement processes
  • Providing commercial advice throughout sourcing and delivery
  • Leading supplier negotiations and commercial discussions
  • Managing supplier relationships and performance
  • Developing and implementing procurement and contract management strategies
  • Managing commercial risk, governance and value for money
  • Supporting multiple procurements simultaneously
  • Providing commercial guidance to senior stakeholders
  • Light-touch contract management, with the majority of the role focused on procurement

🔹 Essential Experience

We’re looking for candidates with:

  • Strong public sector procurement/commercial experience
  • Good knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023
  • Experience with Competitive Flexible Procedures and public sector frameworks
  • Proven end-to-end sourcing experience, ideally within software/technology procurement
  • Strong commercial negotiation experience, including areas such as liability, remedies and data processing
  • Solid understanding of contract law and commercial terms
  • Experience managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Experience developing and managing supplier relationships
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

🔹 Desirable

  • CIPS, IACCM or similar commercial/procurement qualification
  • Experience developing category strategies
  • Knowledge of CCS and other public sector frameworks
  • Experience working with AI or emerging technologies
  • Previous experience within policing or wider regulated environments

📍 Working Arrangements

This role requires 3 days per week onsite at Kilburn, and candidates must be comfortable attending face-to-face interviews.
