Commercial Manager

We are looking for a Commercial Manager to join our team, based in Newbury, supporting the delivery of a range of exciting construction projects across the region.

This is a key leadership role within the Commercial team, responsible for driving commercial performance, managing risk and ensuring successful financial outcomes across projects. You will work closely with project teams, clients and the supply chain to deliver value and maintain strong commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to completion
  • Managing and developing commercial teams, including Quantity Surveyors and Assistants
  • Overseeing procurement strategies and subcontractor management
  • Ensuring robust cost control, forecasting and reporting across projects
  • Managing variations, change control and commercial risk
  • Supporting contract negotiations and ensuring contractual compliance
  • Working closely with project, design and operational teams to support successful delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager within construction or the built environment
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, with experience across major projects
  • Demonstrable experience leading and developing commercial teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or complex workstreams
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
  • A proactive, organised and commercially focused approach
