About the Role
The successful Commercial Manager will work closely with the Legal and Commercial team(s), as well as the wider telent Project team to help provide commercial support and expertise to help ensure telent is exercising its obligations fully in line with the contractual requirements across our Asset Management function. This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to be in our Warwick office 1 day per week.
What you’ll do
- Provide a pragmatic and value-add commercial support to all aspects of Telent’s business throughout the entire sales and delivery cycle
- Working closely with the businesses to develop relationships with, and an understanding of the commercial approach of Telent’s customers
- Provide a contractual support and guidance to the business regarding terms and conditions and contractual obligations including regulatory requirements
- Understanding of the different types of risk and solutions which manage these risks throughout the lifecycle of the contract.
- Working collaboratively to review bids and contracts, to discuss and advise on the appropriate commercial structure of the deal/issue and to negotiate and draft contracts and correspondence with customers
- Provide end-to-end commercial support across both the bidding and post-contract stages
- Supporting projects throughout the full contract lifecycle, from initial bid through to completion
- Provide guidance on NEC and JCT contracts
- Working with the team to maximise the profitability of the contracts whilst understanding the impact on future business

Who you are
You are a commercially driven professional with proven experience managing contracts, costs, and commercial risk in complex project environments, ideally within the Rail / Telecoms / Utilities / Transport or Civil Engineering industries.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a commercial management role within a relevant industry
- Strong knowledge of contract management, ideally including NEC and/or other standard form contracts
- Experienced managing commercial risk, cost control, forecasting, and margin improvement
- Strong negotiation skills with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities for value creation and cost efficiency
- Excellent analytical and financial acumen, including reporting and data-driven decision making
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
