Commercial Manager - Maternity FTC

I am working with a well-known Womenswear Brand, who are looking to appoint a Commercial Manager on a Maternity FTC into their Central London team.

As a Commercial Manager

You will be at the heart of driving brand growth and market presence. Your innovative ideas and strategic insights will directly influence product launches, marketing campaigns, and overall brand strategy. The successful candidate

  • Will have a proven track record of successful brand campaigns.
  • Will have strong analytical skills.
  • Will have the ability to translate market research into actionable strategies.
  • Will hold the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Commercial Manager - Maternity FTC - The Role

  • Lead and manage the Senior Designer while overseeing the wider Design team to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with brand direction.
  • Manage the external range review and approval process for Footwear and Jewellery collections.
  • Report directly to the Chairman and Board of Directors on the creative direction and overall design strategy of the brand.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to execute creative concepts and marketing plans in line with sales objectives.
  • Liaise with Product and Sales teams to ensure all creative output remains on-brand, commercially viable, and delivered effectively.
  • Drive brand growth strategies and identify commercial opportunities, managing projects from concept through execution.
  • Oversee the approvals process for all collections with brand owners and licensors.
  • Develop and refresh brand update decks in line with seasonal sales launches.
  • Lead brand collaboration projects, from identifying suitable partnership opportunities through to concept development, initial designs, and marketing execution.
  • Represent the brand at meetings with authentic brand owners and external stakeholders.

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience within fashion, lifestyle, or branded retail environments.
  • Previous experience in roles such as Commercial Manager, Brand Manager, Buying Manager, Head of Design, or similar senior-level positions.
  • Strong background working across both high street and designer-level brands.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and inspire cross-functional teams across design, product, marketing, and commercial functions.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance creativity, brand direction, and profitability.
  • Experienced in developing and executing brand strategy to support long-term growth and market relevance.
  • Confident managing and approving collections, range direction, and product alignment in line with brand identity and commercial objectives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • A natural people person with strong leadership presence and the ability to act as a figurehead for the brand.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and strong project management capabilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills with confidence in forecasting, margin analysis, pricing structures, and commercial reporting.
  • Experience working closely with licensors, brand owners, distributors, and external partners.
  • Strong understanding of the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to launch and retail execution.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify commercial opportunities and drive brand growth initiatives.
  • Collaborative approach with experience aligning creative, product, and commercial teams to achieve business objectives.
