Commercial Manager, New Independent Distribution Network Operator (iDNO)

UK flexible | Permanent | Founding team | Travel as required

About our client

I'm recruiting for a major UK energy group that is new to the iDNO market and is launching its first Independent Distribution Network Operator (iDNO) business, built from scratch. You'd join the founding team, with the backing of an established group and the pace of a start-up.

The opportunity

As Commercial Manager, you'll lead proposition development, pricing and route-to-market for this new entrant. You'll create a sustainable pipeline of network-adoption opportunities across priority market segments and take them through to investment decision. You'll shape the commercial function from day one, working alongside the founding leadership, regulatory and engineering leads, and with other businesses across the wider group to build differentiated propositions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
